Chapter 1: The Silence of Saturday
A World Holding Its Breath
The tomb was sealed. The stone was rolled in place. For the disciples, it wasn't just a burial; it was the burial of their hope. The One they thought would redeem Israel was lying cold in a borrowed grave. Saturday was a day of silence, confusion, and fear. But God does His best work in the dark.
"Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning." — Psalm 30:5
Chapter 2: The Stone Rolled Away
The Earth Shakes
Early on the first day of the week, while it was still dark, Mary Magdalene went to the tomb. Suddenly, a violent earthquake shook the ground. An angel of the Lord came down from heaven and, going to the tomb, rolled back the stone and sat on it. His appearance was like lightning, and his clothes were white as snow.
"He is not here; he has risen, just as he said." — Matthew 28:6
Chapter 3: Mary and the Gardener
Recognition through Name
Mary stood outside the tomb crying. She saw a man standing there but did not realize it was Jesus. 'Woman,' he said, 'why are you crying? Who is it you are looking for?' Thinking he was the gardener, she said, 'Sir, if you have carried him away, tell me where you have put him.' Jesus said to her, 'Mary.' She turned toward him and cried out in Aramaic, 'Rabboni!'

Chapter 4: The Road to Emmaus
Hearts Burning Within
Two of them were going to a village called Emmaus. Jesus himself came up and walked along with them; but they were kept from recognizing him. He explained to them what was said in all the Scriptures concerning himself. When he was at the table with them, he took bread, gave thanks, broke it and began to give it to them. Then their eyes were opened and they recognized him.
"Were not our hearts burning within us while he talked with us on the road?" — Luke 24:32
